Resetting Assets in LPSolve

Welcome to this LPSolve Knowledge Base article on downloading and resetting assets. The LPSolve program relies on a set of files, referred to as assets, that are required for the program to start and function properly. These assets include files used during startup, feed libraries, translations, and other supporting components that operate behind the scenes.

For LPSolve to run successfully, all required asset files must be present and accessible. If one or more of these files become corrupted, are accidentally deleted, or are moved from their original location, the program may fail to start or may stop functioning correctly.

If this happens—or if you receive a message from the error-handling system indicating that the assets need to be reset—you can restore them using the Reset Assets option. To do this, open the Help menu and select Reset Assets.

When you choose this option, LPSolve will notify you that the existing asset files located in the LocalAppData folder will be archived by renaming the current assets folder. In addition, the existing translation file stored in the Documents folder will also be archived. After this process, LPSolve will download and restore a fresh set of asset files from the tools.calfnotes.com website.

Once the reset is complete, the program should resume normal operation. Resetting assets is only necessary if you encounter startup issues or problems related to missing or damaged asset files.
