Palette and Font

CMC allows you to customize the appearance of charts and other visual elements by selecting both a font and a color palette. These settings affect only how information is displayed—they do not change the simulation results or any calculations.

Customizing the appearance can improve readability, particularly when reports are printed, figures are included in presentations, or charts are projected in a classroom or meeting.

Fonts

CMC allows you to select the font used throughout the application’s charts and graphical displays.

Changing the font affects items such as:

  • Chart titles
  • Axis labels
  • Tick mark labels
  • Legends
  • Other chart text

Selecting an appropriate font can improve readability, particularly when charts are displayed on large screens or incorporated into reports and presentations.

The font selection changes only the appearance of the program and does not affect the underlying data or calculations.

Color Palette

CMC also allows you to choose the color palette used for charts and graphs.

The selected palette determines the colors used for chart elements such as:

  • Histograms
  • Bar charts
  • Line graphs
  • Other graphical elements

CMC includes several predefined palettes supplied by the Microsoft Chart control, allowing users to select the appearance that best suits their needs.

Why customize the appearance?

Although the default settings are appropriate for most users, you may wish to change the font or color palette when:

  • Preparing figures for presentations.
  • Printing reports in color.
  • Improving readability on high-resolution displays.
  • Matching the appearance of other figures in a publication.
  • Accommodating personal preferences.

Using a consistent font and color scheme across multiple figures can also improve the professional appearance of reports and presentations.

Do these settings affect calculations?

No.

Fonts and color palettes are display settings only. Changing them has no effect on:

  • Input distributions
  • Monte Carlo simulations
  • Apparent Efficiency of Absorption (AEA)
  • Serum IgG predictions
  • Summary statistics
  • Printed numerical results

Only the visual appearance of charts and graphical output is modified.

Recommendation

The default appearance has been selected to provide clear, readable charts for most users. However, if you frequently prepare presentations, publications, or printed reports, experimenting with different fonts and color palettes may improve the clarity and visual impact of your figures. Whatever appearance you choose, using it consistently throughout a project will help create a polished and professional presentation.
