Files

The file system within LP Solve is managed from the File menu at the top of the screen. There are a number of options available, including New, Open, Save and Save as.

Selecting New will create a new file based on the LPSolveDefaults.csv file. This allows you to make changes to an existing file rather than building one from scratch.

The Open menu brings you to the LPSolve v1 subfolder within Documents folder. This subfolder contains formulas previously created and a set of example files included in the installation package. All files are stored in a CSV format. This comma separated values format is easily read by Microsoft Excel. Thus, you can review individual components and – with caution – make appropriate changes to a file outside of LPSolve. The files are small, easily manipulated, and easy to send by email The save option will save the file under the existing file name, and Save as gives you the opportunity to save the file under a new name. By default, all files are saved in the LPSolve v1.0 folder within the Documents folder.
