Arranging Windows

NASCalf Arranging Windows

Hello, and welcome to this NASCalf tutorial. In this video, we’ll look at how to arrange and use windows within the program.

NASCalf uses windows to display both inputs—such as nutrient grids and Farm and Calf Info—and outputs from the simulation. One of the advantages of the program is that you can open multiple input windows at the same time. For example, you can view the liquid and grain composition windows simultaneously, arrange them as needed, and make changes in either window. As you adjust inputs, the simulation updates, allowing you to evaluate changes in real time.

You can also open multiple output windows alongside your inputs. For example, you might display the daily nutrient diagnostics and the calf data values at the same time. This allows you to monitor how changes in feeding programs affect performance and nutrient supply.

One important point: when input values change, open output windows may not automatically refresh. To update them, simply adjust the display—such as changing the nutrient shown, the day, or the number of decimal places. This will refresh the window and display the updated results.

In summary, NASCalf allows you to work efficiently by viewing and arranging multiple windows at once. Just remember to refresh output windows after making input changes to ensure you’re seeing the most current results.
