NASCalf Reports

Hello, and welcome to this NASCalf Knowledge Base video on reporting within the NASCalf program. In this video, we’ll walk through the reporting options available and show you how to generate printed reports from your simulation.

Accessing Reports and Farm Information

There are two main menu options related to reporting, including the ability to edit farm information. The farm’s biographical details—such as name and location—are printed at the beginning of each report and can be adjusted from the reporting menu.

You can also use the keyboard shortcut Alt + P to quickly access the main reporting menu.

Performance Reports

One of the key report options is the Performance report. This report is always included when selected and summarizes animal performance over the entire study period. Performance is reported for three age ranges:

  • 0 to 2 months
  • 2 to 4 months
  • 0 to 4 months

This performance information is printed regardless of whether you choose a daily or weekly reporting format.

Ration, Energy, and Protein Reports

In addition to performance, you can generate ration, energy, and protein reports. These reports can be printed for a specific day using the daily option, or summarized every seven days using the weekly option.

The weekly report provides output at seven-day intervals across the study.

Printing Charts

If you select the Charts option, note that charts are printed as a separate print job. When printing to a PDF file, you’ll be prompted to enter two file names—one for the tables and one for the charts. If you’re printing to a physical printer, two separate print jobs will be sent.

Generating the Reports

Once you’ve selected the reports you’re interested in, click OK and the reports will be generated. If you’re printing to a PDF file, you’ll be asked to enter a file name before the report is created.
